Mark won the prestigious Magna Comp Laude award from WorkCompCentral's Comp Laude in 2016. This is the second highest honor in Workers' Compensation. His selection was based on his positive influence on addressing the over-prescribing issue of painkillers in the industry by creating a variety of services that helped physicians, payers and patients collaborate on treatment options beyond complicated prescription regimens.
Mark won the prestigious Samuel Gompers Award from the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) in 2017. The namesake of the award was focused on "improving the working conditions of the masses" and this award recognized Mark's efforts in helping all industry stakeholders be open to a wider suite of tools to manage the chronic pain of injured workers than just prescription medications.
Mark was included in the Top 100 Healthcare Leaders in the world by the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare (IFAH) in 2021. The judges found his accomplishments on social media and upon objective assessment decided he fit the profile of a global healthcare leader. This recognized not just his positive impact on Workers' Compensation in the USA but his efforts in Australia, the UK and other countries to discuss a BioPsychoSocialSpiritual treatment model.
Mark was named by WorkersCompensation.com as one of the Best Blogs in Workers' Compensation in 2016 (ranked 16), 2017 (ranked 3) and 2018 (ranked 3). The other awardees represented the smartest and most articulate writers in the industry from a variety of perspectives.
